AN INTRODUCTION TO WESTERN BIOMASS

We are a new BC Company headquartered in Prince George created to provide solutions to the shortage of Power in BC, while dealing with the beetle infested timber in the Cariboo-Chilcotin and Omineca regions of the province. We are working with not only Federal, provincial and local governments but also First Nations, academia, environmental groups to ensure that our efforts are made with the participation of all affected interests.

POTENTIAL FOR ALTERNATE ENERGY

Based on BC hydro’s 2006 contracts, prices for electricity ranged up to $95 per MWh. Our plan involves several alternatives which will ultimately be driven by location available fibre supply. We will strive for feasible projects and adapt designs so that modular plants could be sited in various regions affected by the Pine Beetle. The goal of the operation will be to be as GHG neutral as possible while contributing to the various social-economical needs of the local communities.
